Founded on the belief that quality service shouldn’t come at outrageous prices, Paynes Plumbing & Electric was born out of necessity and heart. Before starting the business, our founder John “JP” Payne began as a plumber for a larger company. Too often, he found himself quoting astronomical rates to customers who didn’t have any better options. The discomfort of those moments and the lack of integrity he saw sparked a change.
That change became Paynes Plumbing & Electric, which he now runs with his wife, Katlin.
With a vision to help Knoxville area families without draining their wallets, the company started small, just one truck, a dream, and a commitment to honesty. Today, Paynes has grown into a full-service operation with licensed plumbers and electricians, a growing fleet, and deep roots in the community.
